The Yuki Family
our story
Born and bred in Tokyo, Japan owner/chef Kazuto (Kaz) Yuki spent his early years helping out in his grandparent’s eel restaurant.
After immigrating to Australia in 2002, Kaz left a career in architecture to pursue his life-long passion for cooking, honing his skills in some well known Noosa restaurants.
During this time he noticed a need for good quality sushi in the region. Sushi which paid homage to the deep traditions of Japan, starting first and foremost with respect for the way the rice is prepared. It was his marriage to Aussie-born Suzi and the birth of their daughter which was the real impetus for Kaz to follow his dream and open his own business. Creating Sushi Wave was the perfect way for Kaz to find his authentic place within the community he loved and connect his daughter to her Japanese heritage.
At Sushi Wave, Kaz proudly heads a full Japanese kitchen and dedicated team dishing up the freshest sushi and sashimi as well as mouth-watering Izakaya-style hot dishes. His 12 year old daughter is already setting the tables.

our team
The Sushi Wave Team is a talented, dedicated, hardworking bunch of individuals with a passion for great food and great service. There is laughter and friendship in the kitchen which flows into the food and into the restaurant. A strong work ethic, genuine concern for others and attention to detail underpin the work philosophy of the Sushi Wave Team.
The kitchen team are all originally from Japan and have chosen the Sunshine Coast as their home. Each team member takes great pride in their Japanese heritage and delight in sharing it with customers of Sushi Wave, through their food, custom and language.
Long term front of house team members include local school students who do an amazing job balancing their work and study commitments. There is a palpable bond between team members with lasting friendships formed as the Sushi Wave family, now in its 12th year, continues to grow.

our venue
Nestled in a lively cafe courtyard on Peregian Boardwalk, Sushi Wave is the perfect spot for lunch.
With a 30 seat capacity, dining is mainly alfresco with sheltered seating and sea breezes at the rear of the shop and tables and umbrellas in the courtyard.
We also have indoor window bench seating for ten, where you can enjoy your sushi and watch the world go by.
We are open every day from 11am until 2pm for casual BYO dining and take-away.

The Noosa Junction Seafood Market also sells a selected range of fresh Sushi Wave sushi, Monday to Saturday from 10.30am.
